Mephisto's Gun and Bocklafette
Permalink

Hi,

I have been revisiting my interest in Mephisto's armament in Solidworks, teaching myself (poorly) as I go. Here's what I have done so far. Feedback is welcome.

I make no claim to accuracy. There's a scarcity of information with regard to the gun mount, so there's lots of guess-work, deductions and suppositions in there, mixed in with a few known measurements.

Cheers,

Michael

I don't know if this will help, but here is a picture of the rear of the Mephisto gun.

Thanks Ned, I have that image too. I think I have just about everything that's out there on the net now

Added a few more details. The counterweights are guess-work based on the one photo I've seen with a weight attached, and Hundleby's sketch .

Added the trunnion caps with bolts and spent an awful amount of time trying to get the blended curve right on the lower part of the mount (second picture). There's very few pictures of this area out there on the net that I've been able to find, and I guess there'd be variations on the castings depending on the foundry. I know it's not right, but so far it's as close as I have done so far.
