US M1918 3-ton tank handbook?

Hello,

Does anybody know if this handbook still exists? I found an obscure reference to a handbook being written for the tanks while searching for info on the M1917 6-ton. I have the handbook for the 6-ton and it seems it was written very early while the tanks were still in the prototype stage.

Thank you.

I'm not sure there ever was an official handbook for the 3-ton tank since it didn't progress past an initial trial batch

of 15 tanks. If such a handbook does exist it should be in the list of Forms of the United States War Department, Office of the Chief of Ordnance

(this preceded the TM series). Although the handbook for the 6-ton special tractor (#1995) is noted there's no entry for the 3-ton special tractor.

Regards,

Charlie

CharlieC,

Thank you for the reply. I have just begun researching this tank, I haven't yet attempted to contact the US National Archives or the Museums that house the remaining two examples.

I know at some point I'll have to contact the museums... but I'd like to try and find as much archival information as possible first.
