Composite MakV I8
Permalink

Hi!

My next model will be the MarkV and after some russian ones, I'll like to built a british composite and I there only one I sure it was compoisite is I8, well know by two pics from AMW.

ld beOne point is I don't know the tank number neither were and when the tank was hit (a direct hit in the front left track). Soldiers standing on the front look americans I think.

The other is the pictures make difficult it to know if the commander cupola is painted with W/R/W bands. According to regulation it should be but many Mark V seem only carry the bands on the top of the driver post.

Thank you very much for help.

Regards

Gilles(Lostiznaos)

The painting of W/R/W stripes changed on the Mark V and V* from about 21 June 1918, when it was the rear turret that was painted rather than the cab. The reason was the addition of provision to mount an anti-aircraft gun on the cab which, it was felt, would obscure the marking.

Thank you very much, I didn't know the reason of the change!
