Fowler B5 Armored tractor

A pic of a fowler B5 Armored tractor I built about a year ago. It is a model from Jacek Bernas (J B Models) It is rated as a simple build but for someone just starting in card modeling it still had it's problems but I think the finished article is ok. There are apparently trailers to go with the model, does anyone know how to go about getting a template of them or a drawing? The scale is about 1/32, I used stick on rhinestones for the rivets and painted it with unthinned artists waterpaint English Grey F1416E.

There is also a pic of The Holt Steam Wheel Tank which I am sure everyone knows.

Is that the original 1:43 scale of the Holt Steam tank model?

Steve Zaloga has pointed out that the Holt Steam tank been wrongly assumed to travel with the big wheels at the front - in reality it seems to have been

an armoured shell over an existing tractor chassis so the small wheels would have been at the front.

Hi CharlieC, I made the Holt bigger from A4 to A3 which brings the scale to about 1:32. I will have to check out other rivet sources, there are other options.
The question of the Holt travelling with the big wheels at the front has given rise to some discussion on other forums, if it were to travel with the big wheels to the front I am sure they would not have fitted the ditch climber on the small wheels. Thanks for commenting.

Fred Crismon says an eye-witness states that this machine drove liike an ordinary tractor, with the small wheel to the front.

www.papermodelers.com has a proposed "Corrected Plan of the Holt Steam Wheeled Tank" in its download section, with the small wheel at the front, and MGs in the ball Mounts on each side.
This is the same configuration as the standard Holt tractor which had two large drive wheels in back and a small steering wheel in front.

Both the Holt tracked steam tractors and the early tracked Holt petrol traction engines also had a small steering wheel in front.
I am not sure why the Holt company retrogressed and proposed a wheeled rather than a tracked fighting vehicle.

 

BTW, comparison of the direction of the cleats of the Holt Steam Wheel Tank, with the cleat pattern of the drive wheels of contemporary tractors suggest that the small wheel was at the front end of the vehicle.

I believe the the "corrected" drawings showing the front wheel are incorrect.

The centreline of the small-wheel axle should be in line with the centreline of the turning mechanism above it.  Unless they align, the steering would not wrkk without some fancy camming or correcting mechanism which makes a nonsense of the design.

Any other engineers out there to check this out?
