1/72 Scale Heavy Tank Mk IX
Permalink

Good day!

I like to share two new 1/72  models I have made.

Heavy tank Mk IX in the normal "Pig" version as well as the amphibious "Duck"

For the pig I need to find a correct chain to hold the unditching beam, the Duck needs a lot more dirt and mud but I am afraid I will overdo it that is why I took the pictures today.

A big thanks to Wayne McCullough for allowing to use his paper model as a basis, an to Michel Boer for the decals.

Both will be available from Jan Giesbers in his Den Bels range.

Regards

Hans

Great work. Are they scratch build or are there existing kits?

Excellent work, Hans! I know you make a lot of masters for kit production (as Henk of Holland), so am I correct in assuming that you have made the masters for Jan Giesbers and these are built-up from early castings?

These are assembled test 3D prints of the masters ; Jan adds them to his den Bels range.

The Pig was available in Telford last month, the Duck version masters I just send to him.

I was surprised how few parts were required to build a model of such a big vehicle,

Unfortunately no other versions existed as far as I know.

I hope you like them.
