I have only just stumbled across the fact that the Mk V in the IWM was at Bovington until 1966, as a "gate guard," presumably in the open. Since we recently dug up some old photos/postcards of Bov tanks outdoors, I wonder if there are any of the Mk V knocking about.

Here's a photo my father took, back in the mid 70's. Not the MkV, but the MkIV "Flirt/Daphne", the MkVIII & what appears to be the MkIX behind it.
I walked across that very same grass some years before, clutching my Box Brownie. IIRC, Thunderclap Newman were in the charts at the time.

"Thunderclap Newman" were relatively short-lived, so it was between 1969 (when they were formed) and 1971 (when they broke-up).

I sort of made thst bit up. It could equally have been John Fred and his Playboy Band. Or the Nashville Teens. Or something.
