Another image from the National WW1 War Memorial - this one says it is of a 350mm Schneider howitzer.

The background is the polygone at Harfleur close to the Schneider factory where the 280mm howitzer were built

Anyone know if howitzer this was a thing - or just a flight of fancy by a postcard publisher.

Comparing it to this photo of a 280 mm from Wikimedia commons, the shells behind the howitzer look to be about the same size relative to the people. They certainly don't look noticeably bigger to indicate a 350 mm diameter.

If you look at the left side of the image there is a church spire on the horizon. This looks rather like the Eglise Saint-Martin d'Harfleur which is still

there. 3D in Google maps shows off the spire rather well.

enter the catalog number 1989.39.1 - that will return the image of a cart with tools. Open it

and click on "show related items" - this will give 29 images of how to assemble a 280mm Schneider howitzer

and the transport vehicles.

Ignore the captions they aren't right (yet).
