I'm trying to determine the proper shape and mounting points of the rear grenade screen seen on some of the Mk.1 female tanks in period photos. My only reference is currently the small piece of video seen on David Fletcher's Tank Talk om the Mk.1 Tank. Does anyone have a drawing or additional photos of this part of the tank? I'm currently building a 1/35 scale model of it and want the entire grenade screen combination - including the extra bits over the sponsons. But images the rear section is quite elusive!
Thanks Björn! There is a gold mine of information in that thread, and the drawings and photos were exactly what I was looking for to help me with my project.
Much appreciated!
Gary

I built a 1/35 model of the same tank (A17, “Oh I Say!!!”). There’s a great Youtube video of the rear if the tank: youtu.be/M7K485WdBTo It shows the crew taking the tarp off and has them climbing all over the screen. Pretty cool.
I used the (Takom) kit frames as templates for the rear portion. If I remember correctly, .040 x .060 was the right size. Let me know if you want some more info.
Chris
Edit: My profile pic is the model I built.

Thanks for your post, Chris. That piece of video is invaluable to my project, especially the rear view with the crew folding the tarp.
My screens are all built, and the size of Evergreen strip you mentioned is exactly what I used. They happily match the references from my perspective. Although this is not the "Model" section of the forum - here are a couple of pics.
Unfortunately I just removed the cover from the hydraulic lift assembly on the tail wheels (not an easy task), but the video clearly shows the cover in place - so I will have to reverse that modification
