I think it looks great!!

The Problem with the Heat of the Exhaust:

I see two possible Solution

1: Either you didn't care about the heat

or

2: they had some form of shielding against the heat, a piece of tin or whatever was available

How about asbestos rope wrapped around the exhaust pipe like the lagging on hot water pipes?

The British Army used asbestos rope to insulate the receivers on the 18 Pounder guns so there would

have been rope available. Would certainly isolate the hot exhaust pipe from anything on the roof.

Asbestos was just thought to be useful material rather than evil stuff it is thought of today.

Yes, there's rope, the light coloured part, on the exhaust pipe. This is 6022 captured at a Somme swamp. One can see this rope arrangement also on other supply tanks - and on some ordinary male tanks.

Here's my Mk IV :)

Now, I've just bought the following decals: https://www.super-hobby.co.uk/products/English-Gun-and-Supply-Carrier-World-War-I.html

As you can see, I have 2 options: Darlington and Harwich.

Does anyone know if these tanks existed? I couldn't find anything on Google. It'd be nice to put the tank name and the big text "Supply" as well.

Both names belonged to Mk. I Gun Carriers, not to Mk. IV Supply Tanks. Early Mk. IV Supply Tanks seem to have carried their regiistration number only , e.g. 6022. One vehicle captured by the Germans carried a large number "4" forward the sponson. - Late tanks had "SUPPLY" or "BAGAGE" painted on the sponsons and displayed the red-white-red recognition stripes. I've not yet seen one carrying a name.

I've seen pictues of the Mk. IV Supply Tanks with the regiistration numbers like 6xxx or 4xxx. Do you think a number like 7921 will be ok? I'm asking because I have some old decals which have the perfect size and font type. Simply I want to add something else apart form the big SUPPLY on the sponson.

7921 - or any number starting with a seven - is not a good choice for a MK. IV tank. As you have already stated 6xxx and 4xxx would work - as would 8xxx.

Have you checked the Landships Google website?

According to the lists there the 6000 series were mostly Supply tanks and some of the other identifiers, where known, are noted.

What a great resource! I have additional decals for Mk. IV Lodestar 4093. I can easaily convert this number (just cut the decal and apply it in the right order) to 6043.
