I am scratch building Koeningsberg gun used in East Africa. I have seen several remaining guns, but they seams to be different one from the other. Is there anyone who knows more about those ex naval guns?
Anyway, information seems to be conflicting - the usually-reliable NavWeaps site says the 10.5cm guns were L/40, but other sites say L/35. The following site has two photographs of surviving guns on improvised field mountings in Mombasa and Johannesburg (one photo looks the same as one of your black & white pictures, but is in colour):
I wouldn't be surprised if the carriages are different, as they were improvisations built, it transpires, in the Dar es Salaam workshops, but the barrels should be the same as they came from what one would expect to have been a uniform outfit on the vessel.
Thank you Roger! I am sculpting all range for East Africa now... I think the wheels on remaining guns are British made after the guns were captured… Well one can never really know… Thanks again! I
I hadn't thought about the wheels possibly being replaced. Hmmm... Maybe you should contact this chap (from http://www.worldwar1.com/sfkonig.htm):
