Many months ago, John Hornbostel asked about a mystery American heavy gun with odd wheels that had very wide, web-like, spokes (Tim Rigsby posted some very useful info at the time):
There's no specific information about it, but I thought it might be of interest (and if John still drops by and reads this, and if he's still interested, he might contact Aberdeen - though be warned, they take forever to reply...).
I believe there was a thread on this gun back in February or January. If I remember correctly this was a 6 inch (152mm) M-1888 naval gun mounted on an extemporised field carriage for use in France. They apparently were too late to see action there, and only @ 20 of them were ever built. I may be mistaken about the model of ordnance used (M-1895 rings a bell too for some reason).
