A classic!!! Krupp gun from Weissenbourg!

Dear friends!


 


Here comes the most beautiful gun of them all! A true classic!! Krupp as used in East Africa and Balkan Wars. It is one of my favorite guns of WW1. In next mails some more obsolete guns from WW1.

This is the 9cm Schwere Feldkanone C73.  It fired two piece ammunition, but had excellent range.  As I've mentioned in previous posts, this system was sold or built under license by a number of countries.  Large numbers served with the Ottoman armies, and Russia. 


I would consider the piece rare.

I would love to see some photos of the presumably Krupp 10.5cm field howitzer just behind this gun. It appears to be an earlier model than the 10.5cm leFH 98 (apparently called "Mörser Munt" [mortar mouth] by the Germans, due to its thick and exagerated belled muzzle, a feature which the weapon in the photo lacks).

Hello Peter !
I have forgotten to put the explaining text under the image for Ivan .
Here it is : SHOOTING in front of Friedrich Krupp by a chinese Artillery delegation.
The chinese officers had been educated in handling the Krupp-canons by Export-contract.
The year : 1990.
I suppose it is a photo you asked on topic about FK 96 .
Maybe i am wrong ,but i know that army-equipment was often earlier in duty of other
countries than in the own one.
The german " Heereszeugamt " was a very slow company -almost today !
