Minor warning - if doing research on Joseph Vollmer (see another gently glowing thread) be aware that there was also a Heinrich Vollmer involved in tank work in the 1920s and 30s - mainly in the area of armaments. This can confuse searches. It would be interesting to know if the two were related.
