Doing some digging on Turkish vehicles I came across this photo of an Albion in the RMK museum in Istanbul. Its an Albion A10 3 tonner dating from mid 1917 and is equiped as a mobile X ray ambulance. A number of Albions were fitted out as specialist ambulances at the time (including mobile dentists' surgeries). According to the RMK it was in use in Turkey until the mid 1920s. The question is how did it get there? Such vehicles are definitely rear echelon and as the Turkish army was in retreat in Palestine and Mesopotamia in 1917 its difficult to see how they could have capured one intact. I wonderd if it had been in service with the Greeks in the Greco Turkish war but they seem to have used American vehicles. Any ideas?
I think I can clear the mystery albion trucks were never ever used by Ottoman/Turkish army. The one you see there is on the private collection of the wealthiest industrialist of Turkey, Rahmi Koç and he buys such vehicles of interest from all over the world. It's one of them.

Yes I did know but the museum specifically states that this one was in use in Turkey right after the end of WW1 and was in Allied service against Turkey at some time during the war. They acknowledge those exhibits bought in from outside. Hence my questions still stands
G'day from Australia. This is my first post to your forum. I own a 1916 Albion A10 type BB 3 ton Albion GS truck and have been in-touch with the Curator of the Turkish museum regarding their Albion A10. The A10 on display was donated to them by the Turkish Red Cresent. (Red Cross). It was un-restored and was restored for display by the museum. It is an X-ray Van and I was able to supply them with a factory photo of the truck in 1916. I have attached a photo of my Albion on a 650km. run in 2006. Jill, my better half and I lived in the back for 3 weeks and averaged 25km. per hour for the 650km. Thanks Rick Cove
