France is - quite understandably - one of the countries where the memory of the Great War is kept alive the best. I would say that some of the best magazines with WW1-material are to be found there. Even thought the language may be a problem for you, the photos and the art-work is often first rate. Here are some tips:
1. 14-18 - Le Magazine de la Grande Guerre is as you can tell by the title a whole mag just dedicated to WW1. And the ones that publish the magazine has also started publishing a lot of WW1 Books. Many photos, maps, contemporary art-work etc. Recommended.
2 Histoire de Guerre: Blindes & Materiel are now concentrating on FRENCH material from both the World Wars, and the latest issue (no.74) has articles on the St Chamond 220mm SP Gun, the St Chamond 1915C 155mm howitzer, and the Chatillon-Panhard WW1 Arty Tractor. Remarkable! Indeed recommended.
3. Batailles has had several BIG issues with WW1 interest: one on German WW1 Arty, one on Verdun and now the latest issue (Hors série 9) are concentrated on German Sturmtruppen. Great photos, many not seen before. Again recommended.
4. And Armes Militaria Magazine recently had a special issue on Verdun - Hors série no61. Nice artwork by Jean Restayn, many photos, plus illustrations showing personal equipment.
