Thank you Peter, but I need some dimensions for the model I wish to make. I could purchase an existing model and then copy off of that but I am trying to avoid that expense, if possible.
I do have the old Palmer plastic kit of the US version of the gun but I do not know the scale of it. If I had a few dimensions I could measure the model and find out scale. But without dimensions I'm stuck. That kit and the later reissue of it by Life-Like has been reported to be 1/24 scale but that is nonsense.

Does anyone have any detail on how the cradle pivoted for elevation? There must have been some form of 'trunion' on the cradle allowing it to piviot on the carriage but I can't see it on the drawings that Peter has just updated. I've got a very old and somewhat crude kit of a 75. I reckon I can make it much better by replacing some of the worst parts using plastic rod etc etc. However the cradle just rests on the axle of the carriage without any fastening which surely can't be right.
