I am trying to make something like tank database, and I'd like to know if there is some software, that could help me (like software for making something like family tree with informations about people). I suppose there is no such software, but if there is...
It depends on what you want to capture, what you want to get out of it, and in what format.
Capturing basic info can be done in Excel, elementary databases can be done in Access, and, if you want to show the development of tanks in a "genealogical" format, then you can use Gedcom files to do it. I did my first spreadsheet showing all the different marks of tanks, the versions, their dimensions, the armament, etc in Excel, and this is very handy for ready reference as it prints out on to one page. "Genealogical" or "chronological" charts can also be done in Excel - this version will give you far more room for references than a Gedcom file will. When I started my family genealogy, I did it in Excel, and it now covers some twenty-odd sheets and three hundred years - all a database requires is a bit of imagination and GOOD PLANNING BEFORE YOU START!
