It's interesting that the engine and transmission are inside the tracks, it must have been tricky making it work at all!
I like the note in the article saying it was actually less capable than a standard motorbike!
Are those outrigger wheels to control the direction of the beast? If that's the case, it really isn't more sophisticated than the single-track Vezdekhod of WWI! The Vezdekhod used outrigger wheels to turn, and this system apparently didn't work well at all.
That newest "tank motorcycle" I posted a thread about a while back solves these problems by incorporating tracks much akin to Johnsons Snake Tracks. The tracks can both bend into an "S" for turns, aswell as each track plate being able to swivel laterally, thus the vehicle can not only initiate a turn, but the driver an actually lean it into the turn like a regular motorbike.
