From this pages are discussed 2 bunkers beside railway bridge through river Dnestr near by city Galich. Excuse me, language russian, but photography much.
I think more an infantery gun cause i ought to see the rests of 4 bold fragments on the Beton socket in front. Maybe there where the fixing points of a quarter circle slide bar which was often jused for quick changing fire -range at light fortress artillery.
There is also the possibility for a heavy Maxim when you look at the attched pic. of an MG 08 in Scharten-Lafette . Don't know the english word !
Seek for another picture but this one must do it for the moment.
Yes, I agree. What would make TACTICAL sense in this type of fortification? Clearly a sort of strongpoint intended to guard an important bridge. Something fast-firing, used against soft targets. Either a MG or an Infantry gun.
That's the picture i had in mind. It shows the quarter circle mounting very clear.
But it is.....the standard canon mounting of Germanys A7V tanks! Therefore weapon developments are often basing of simular purposes a bunker canon-mount would have looked quite simular.
But nevertheless very interesting stuff Vlad 26 ! Specially the links to the russian sites !
