A quick little project while waiting on some materials for the Rolls.  I used the plans on Landships, though I altered the front to resemble the vehicle shown inthe reference photos.

The boiler under construction.  The front dome comes from one of the wiggly eyes they sell in crafts stores for dolls and teddy bears.

With 20 spokes apiece and 32 cleats apiece, the rear whee;s have more pieces than the rest of the model combined.

The front axle and turntable. There are a few shots of surviving Fowler steam tractors on the web, and they've been quite useful in figuring out details like this.

Thanks, Tim.  I've finished all the major components. There are still details that need to be added, but at least it's starting to look like something

I'm currently in the process of applying all the rivets.  Painting is going to have to wait until it warms up enough to open the windows.  On the subject of painting, what colours did the British use on their equipement during the Boer War?  I know that painting on Landships shows an overall grey scheme, but the photos seem to show the wheels and lower body in a darker colour.  Also, the Canadian War Museum has a surviving Boer War cannon that's finished in khaki.
