When I have been working on a new model project, the DAIMLER MARIENWAGEN HALFTRACK, It came up a strange ancestor, brainchild of Mr. Otto Bremmer ; built before WW1 and accoeding to my references and a fuzzy photo I could pic up,( yet not could scan for uploading), sorry. This "BREMMERWAGEN" was an early artillery tractor, not to be confused with latest designs, MARIENWAGEWN I & II).- Does anyone heard about? Best regards, EDUARDO
Bremer initially had a very interesting prototype (of which I only have a very fuzzy picture where the most interesting part - the track - cannot be seen). Later he got into business with the War Ministry who supplied him with 2 commercial 3 ton lorries in order to produce a cross country vehicle. This was to become the infamous "Bremerwagen". - Are you looking for the latter?
That's the Bremer-Wagen. Not quite what Hugo Bremer had in mind, but all he could produce with the materials given to him.

Despite it is not the vehicule in the photo I am about to upload(just give me please a bit of time please, due to work comitemments I am a bit troublesome) what a fascinating image you share with us! " this vehicule´s particular characteristic is that the trackwork has in the middle a sort of spocked wheel very similar in shap and dimension to... a horse´s cart one. Your pictures show (left) the Marienwagen-I-chassis, the first attempt by Daimler to improve the Bremer-Wagen (didn't work). At right is one of the further Daimler developments. Awaiting your upload. Your description doesn't ring a bell with me.

Here's the drawing of the Benz-Bräuer Kraftprotze. Allegedly, some 50 of these vehicles became ready by the end of 1918, but none ever saw front line service. They were foreseen as tractors for field guns.
Concerning the Bremer-Tank: This was the test vehicle that Bremer had constructed on his own in 1914/15, until he ran out of materials. When he turned to the Prussian KM, they were not interested in his tank but wanted him to construct a cross-country transport. When Bremer - after some quarrels with KM bueraucrats - finally agreed, he was given two lorries. The results of this venture are known. What happened to the tank prototype, I do not know. Also, I've never seen another picture of this vehicle.
