Does anyone know of a book, or website online etc, where it is possible to find out where A7V's (or Beutepanzers) saw action, and which ones? I'm mostly interested as to whether the A7V's or any Mk IV Beutepanzer's saw action anywhere near Epehy in France, where the 110th Leicestershire Brigade, 21st Division saw action.
I've had a look at Hundleby & Jones/Rarey/Icks, and it doesn't look like it.
According to the above, A7V actions were at St. Quentin, Villers-Bretonneux, Soissons, "On the Matz" (south of Roye), Fremicourt, and north of Cambrai.
Beutepanzer at St. Quentin, Soissons, and Fremicourt, plus "in very small numbers upon a few other occasions", all of which appear to be well to the south or west of Epehy.
Sorry, mate.

Many thanks, Rob
Hi Rob,
The Book Sturmpanzerwagen A7V, vom Urpanzer zum Kampfpanzer Leopard 2 has a chapter from Klaus Paprotka with all the tactical operations of the A7V in 1918. I'm currently still reading it and if any mentions of Epehy pop up I'll inform you. The nearest so far seems to be north of Cambrai which James has already said.
Regards Eddie

A date when the Leicesters were in action might help to narrow things down. Don't forget that as well as the A7Vs and the Mk IV Beutepanzers the Germans also had a company of Medium A Beutepanzers which may (or may not) have seen action. Also some infantry units 'acquired' some captured St Chamonds which were used by them for support (independently of the 'official' German tank units) There is a photo of one of these tanks somewhere. Understandably records of this are sketchy and the incidents were probably small in number - but it does serve to suggest other sources of tank sightings.
No German company of Medium As. I know, this is on old rumor that dies hard because it is repeated time and time again - although false. The Germans did capture some Whippets, just enough to restore two of them to running condition. These two were never used in combat in France, one saw limited action with the Freikorps in 1919.
One St.Chamond was in the process of being restored by the war's end, not to use it in combat but because the German engineers were interested in studying the electric transmission.
No German tank action around Epehy. Closest thing is training of Abt. 11 and 12 with Jäger-SturmBtl 3 at Templeux-la-Fosse in late April 1918.

Not the one I meant - captured effectively intact and turned around by an infantry unit.
