I'm looking for informations about the colours of horse drawn wagons, artillery pieces, softskin vehicles and armours used by the British forces in the Middle East campaigns (Gaza, Palestine and Mesopotamia).
Was it the common greenbrown (khaki) like on the Western Front or did they use a different colour?
Did the British forces apply different colours on horse drawn wagons and - for example - on motor vehicles or was it some sort of "standardised" colour?
Do Humbrol or Testors paints match that (those) colour (colours)?
Hi Thomas, there was some discussion on colour a while ago here... Service Colour unfortunatly colour is a major problem but I would think that desert colours would be lighter then those used in Europe, in any case all paints would be hand mixed from ingredients supplied from the stores and this would vary depending on supply and the place of origin of the pigments, there simply is no real standardisation for this.........Hope this helps
