There is also a link form this page to information and images of the surviving 8,8cm S.K. L/30 off the SMS Königsberg. There were only two of this type in Colonial service. Both had field modified carriages.
The German 9cm C/73 Kanone also has a 8,8cm bore diameter but is expressed up to 9cm. These were also in German Colonial service. This is the Link to the German 9cm C/73 in my collection:
Ive visited yor site before and would like to complement you. Particularly on the c 73 page, the best on the web. What Ive always wondered, being a hobby historian with general interest and not just for artillery, is what gun did the c 73 replace? What gun did the Prussians use in 1870/1871?
CJThanks for the kind words. The breechloaders I am somewhat familiar with in Prussian 1870-71 service are the C/1861, C/1864 and the C/1864/67.There are a few of these types in the US.I have attached drawings from Die Gezogenen Feldgeschuesse C/61,C/64 und C/64/67 von W. Witte .I have also put in a few photos from a friends collection of his C/64. By the way, I am not sure if these types were in Colonial service or not.
