And Matador Models have some new stuff available, although it was not anounced on their news page. Two howitzers (one German, one British) and some interesting figures.
My guess is that they'll do what they did with the Sherman and Churchill tanks. No new main kit, just a new sprue of female sponsons and MG's for their Mk I tank.
The figures from Matador match the ones sold by B&K models some years ago. If so then I suspect that Matador will be releasing the B&K Holt tractor at a future date. On the subject of figures I have had the test casts for the French figures they will be out late January. A happy New Year to all.
Hi All, Airfix have listed several WW1 aircraft reissues on their site including the Hannover CLIIIa and a WW1 Diorama model although theres no other details yet...... I expect the Female tank to be the original airfix kit plus an upgrade sprue with female sponsons, hopefully this will include a new cab and top deck for the MKI... However you never know airfix have a fair number of new tool kits for 2009.....
Would love to send a review but my knowledge with the PC is nil!!!!!! I shall send some samples to Peter for review. As to the Simplex there is now one available from Nigel Lawton which is mototized yes sounds unbelievable but is true you can also get a W^D driver to go with it.
I subscribe to the theory about Airfix doing a "Calliope Sherman" on their old venerable "WW1 Tank". ALL new WW1 Military plastic kits is good news, even if it's just a re-wamped oldie. (And goldie BTW: I really LIKE that old Airfix Mk I/II/III hybrid!) Hopefully with new decals and a new, dazzling colour scheme!
The Matador kits is also very good news. The German 21cm Mörser is a real brute, and one that I wanted to have in my collection for a LONG time. I'm getting everything that Matador is willing to throw at the WW! Modelling community!
Another thing: have just reviewed the Ace 76.2mm Putilov and it's VERY good. And I've started building the sequel, the AA Gun, and it's actually even better! Stay tuned for a upcoming review.
And yes: of course I would like to have a peek at those figures!
The only problem as I have said before is that my abilities a la computor etc are spectacularly bad(which is an understatement) which is very annoying as obviuosly I would as many of you to get an idea of the W^D range. Hopefully now that Peter is back(!!!!) you will see a good review of the last sets produced I will also be sending him the French sets so hopefully you will all get to see the figures. If anyone could suggest/recomend an idiots guide then I would be grateful. After the French I have the masters for 15 American figures early war at hand.
