I've noticed that as well as the 1920 pattern Rolls Royce armoured car, Roden are also bringing out the WW2 version with sand tyres and different turret etc. Has anyone heard anything about them bringing out a WW1 version? Plenty of scope - always fancied the look of the ones held in reserve at Arras in the interesting camouflage and with Uralite cladding on some parts
Ive cooperted with Roden on its RR series. I seriously doubt we will see a WW I Rolls in the near future. If we will see one it wont be based on the 1920 pattern at least, there arent many parts that can be used to do a 1914 pattern. A new turret is needed, several (the visor fex) armourplates need to be exchanged, new wheels, new mudguards etc. But Roden may do a 1914 RR but then as a completely new model, I dont know, but at the moment Roden is trying to get the most out of the existing kit, I suspect a Fordson AC from 1940 is more likely.
