One of the first armoured cars of the Dutch army was an Ehrhardt BAK 1913. (they had a Minerva M 14 too but that's for later). Here comes the puzzle. Some say this car was already in The Netherlands before the outbreak of the war, possibly as a demonstration model, and kept there when hostilities started. Others say it was left by the retreating German army, who was allowed to march back and cut corners through the southern part of The Netherlands. They had to leave their equipment there. The Ehrhardt was in service till 1938! It disappeared during the second world war. Some say it was found back, wrecked, for the Reichstag in Berlin. Others say it's whereabouts are unknown. Does anybody know more?
thanks for your reply! I will try out your suggestion. There is at least one photo of two wrecked AC's near the Reichstag in Berlin. One of them is a Daimler 21, (the second a "real" Dutch product, a Wilton Feyenoord). I read somewhere that even a Beutepanzer would be used in the last efforts to defend the city.
