British fuel cans

I would like to get some fuel cans for my upcoming tank build and I was wondering if the W.W. II early British style fuel cans would work on a W.W.I tank. ?

Someone has asked about this before. The British 'flimsies' were introduced in WWI and remained in service until the Jerrycan was adopted in WWII. So, yes.

I was thinking of ten or so for different projects. Atlantis Alliance sells them so I was planning on getting some from there. Thanks for the help. I thought I read somewhere they were the same but I was not certain but thanks to all of I know.

Without wanting to sound pedantic, "flimsies" were used inbetween the wars and in the early part of WW2. What you have pictures of there are "two gallon petrol tins" which were used from WW1 up until the 1960's.

The "flimsies" were much bigger (five gallon i think it was?) and were notorious for leaking.

No, no - pedantic is good. You are quite correct. I do apologise.

Hi Hans
I completely forgot about that post. Thanks. Yeah I am still doing 1/72 but I can't seem to get anything done lately. Work is all I do.

Being a machine operator my hands get pretty dirty and no matter how much I clean them they still have a little dirt on them  so I have to work at home. I have so many projects going on I am still trying to finish the Mack AC my wife got me for Christmas.
I will get this supply tank done but it will take a while. I decided on a Mk2 around the 1917 period. I am thinking of replacing the roof behind the cab since it seems to be not very accurate as far as the strips that cross the roof are concerned. The more I research the more I find questions.
