My latest scheme is to make a small armored car using a utility quad ATV. So far all I have is a crude drawing, but I plan to have it finished by this time 2011. So far it is slightly based off of the Emhardt armored car. 1mm sheet metal will be used for armor, and it will mount 4 or 5 semi-automatic paintball guns; 2 in a turret, 1 on each side and 1 at the rear. All of the hull mounted weapons will be mounted in doors, and the driver and turret gunner will both have fixed periscopes. Vision slits will be provided to each gunner, and the driver will have one not unlike the ones used on the Mk I. I'll add to the page as the building comes along. Construction will begin within the next 2 months or so. Hope you enjoy!

Update: I have found a cheaper, better material. Waterproofed wood board, normally used on floors or walls near showers or other high-moisture areas. Pieces big enough to make a whole side out of are only nine dollars. This tank might cost me less than $100 after all! I think we can also cut the deadline in half, consider how cheap nails and wood board are to buy, and how easy they are to build with!
I already like the sketch drawing! Don't throw your drawings away, not even when they get stained with oil etc. or wrinkled, by using them in the building proces. You can frame them in or make a book out of them, people like that when you're vehicle is on display! Regards, Kieffer
It's a dream others share to build your own. I wish you the best of luck. couple of points though: ATV's can be very unstable when cornering so try and keep the centre of gravity low especially if someone is standing in that turret. Make sure you vent the exhaust a good distance back as that enclosed metal box will prove a death trap if the exhaust allows gas to escape up into a hole/gap or vent or that door in the side where they will accumulate.- Isuggest the exhaist pipe/tailpipe extends from the back a good distance to avoid this and ensure ventialtion to avoid those headaches.....or worse. Please post pics as you go.
Ground breaking on the hull will begin as soon as an appropriate chassis can be found. In the mean-time, the turret will be redesigned and built, and a small pillbox is going to be built to use the same turret, similar to the WW2 German Waffentrager GW IVb. I look forward to beginning the turret in the next few weeks. Photos will be provided! Like I said, the hull can only be built once a suitable chassis can be found. It may also be possible, to avoid centre of gravity concerns, that, like the Mk I, the turret idea may have to be scrapped in favor of sponsons.

Due to some very sad developments in the lives of my assiotiates on this project, it will have to be put on an indeffinate hiatus. The turret and pill box are to be built though, but at the moment no work has begun. The turret and pill box havent been started yet because of these devolopments, but they will be within the next few months when everything has been sorted out.
