As I promised here is what I did to correct the gun turret. First I cut a lenght of Evergreen plastic rod that is 7/16 or .437(11.1mm) the same height as the opening but .020(.508mm) short. You will see why later. I drilled a hole at the highest point of elevation and the lowest. I then cut in between the holes and filed it smooth. To make the sight slit I measured about 1/16th(25.4mm) to the right of the gun opening and took a razor saw and carefully made a verticle cut about half way down the gun opening. I used an X-Acto knife and a Felx-I-File to open and smooth the sighting slit. For the gun shield I used the same tubing and cut it in half and removed most of the sides until it fit inside the turret easily. I drilled a hole in the center and I filed it using a round file until the shield fit the widest part of the barrel and glued it so the larger diameter stuck out a little. Check out the Landships walk around on the Mk IV to see what I mean. The Belgium Museum pictures are indispencible for this. I then glued a couple of strips of .010(.254) stryene to the shield so it would be spaced out a little. I then glued a .020(.508mm) disc of stryene to the top and this sealed off the gun sight slit at the top as per the real tank. Again check the Landships photos. After this was sanded I sliped in the gun and that finished the turret for the port side.
