Seeking for French field gun 75mm 1897 dimensions
Permalink

Hi to all of you :)

I am going to build a 75mm field gun replica at the 1/10 scale.
I am seeking " even being in france..." the external dimensions of the gun.

So thanks in advance to whom would be able to provide me accurate dimensions avoiding me to take them on photos or else.....

Then I will make on my CAD all the detailled drawings for the realize.

Parts will be made on my milling machine and lathe.
For the most complicated the DXF files will be provided to a supplier having CNC machining.

Hydraulic brake is my goal even if not exactly like the original one.

The brass of 32 s&W are pratically at the scale of 1/10

Best regards
jean claude

Howdy,

The Handbook of Artillery (May 1920) includes good basic plans of both the French and the British 75 mm.  It is free to view or download as a PDF on Google Books here: http://books.google.com/books?id=7qpBAAAAIAAJ&pg=PA5&vq=37&dq=%2237+millimeter%22&client=firefox-a&source=gbs_search_r&cad=0_1#v=onepage&q=75%20mm&f=false

A search for  the terms "75 mm" in the Obsolete Military Manuals collection at the Combined Arms Research Library might turn up more plans and dimensions.

Here are plans for the US Army's limber to accompany the French 75 mm:  http://www.lovettartillery.com/US%20M%201918%20Limber.html
