Noting the Mark II photos
Permalink

Nice pictures but I noticed there were none of the back of the tank.  Were none taken or did they somehow get lost?  I wanted one so I could build the rear of my Mark III correctly.

Unfortunately the museum covered the top of the tank so I couldn't see the baffles.

 Hi

Not sure what you mean, there's defo a photo of the rear of the MK2

in the tank articles section!confuse

The rear is the same for MKs1 to 3, so you can use my MK1 plans.  http://landships.activeboard.com/t43133490/landships-mk1-tank-plans/

Also the roof baffles are the same and only changed when they added an exhaust system.

Hope this helps and we have some photos of your model build when you get started.

Helen x

Well I have the tracks done (I thought they should be drybrushed after installation).  I hope I can get a digital camera too.

Wonderful!  Thanks so much!  I assume the two plugs in the center are fittings for the hydraulic jack.  I'll have a bunch of rivets to add, but I know if I don't tme model will look terrible.

You're welcome.

I am not 100% but I think the "plugs" are something to do with the radiator, rather than the jack.

Hi Phil

That's an interesting thought, I presumed that it was to do with the hydraulic system as they sit on the centre line.

Looking again it could be a filler, and at the bottom draining valve. Now I'm not sure! confuse

I just looked at another photo I have, and the piston passes in front of the lower valve, so it appears nothing to do with the tail mechanism.

I'm confused. Are you concurring or poo-pooing? It's very unlike me to be right about something. smile

Sorry took soooo long in replying - the "plugs" as you call them are, in fact, part of the radiator - the top one is the filler  and the bottom - yes you guessed it - a drain plug. Well back to researching any info about "Mother".
