I've had a request for drawings of the wheels/hubs for a 15cm M1893 Howitzer. The gun in question is located in a tiny town in Northern Victoria called Nyah (attached). It's one of two 15cm M1893s in Australia - the local RSL in Swan Hill (nearest large town) is interested in restoring this gun and a pair of 25 Pounder Short guns at Nyah.
Anyone help? They'll have to get some hubs machined as well.
The guns are in a park on River St. Google says the address is 37 River St (-35.171074,143.380299). There are memorial gates opposite Bell St - the guns are behind the gates (attached from Google street view).
I've passed the information to the guys from the Swan Hill RSL who are restoring the howitzer at Nyah.
I notice there isn't an article on the 15cm sFH 93 on Landships II - may I use your walkaround images of the howitzer at the Artillerieschule with appropriate attribution in a Landships II article?
Might these drawings help? 'Das Gerät der Schweren Artillery' states the wheel size as 1230 mm. This does include the metal hoop around it, so I guess without it 1210 mm that Lieven states is correct.
Hi Lieven,
Nice model! I look forward to seeing the completed model. What scale is it? Interesting way you use to place the spokes, putting the rim over some drawings... I think I will adopt this method as well...
