I have just come in to possession of two rare pictures, I was told they may be the elusive Krupp Armoured Limber?? of 1918. I am not sure, some of the uniforms look German, but others seem different. Any idea??????????
You are correct, I believe it is the {Lanz Gleiskettenschlepper}, I found a picture of the Krupp Armoured Limber, Attached is a drawing. Any one with any information on either vehicle, please share. It would be greatly appreciated.
Sorry, do to me being in a hurry this morning I inadvertently posted the wrong picture, the photo I posted is the {LK II power limber} not the Krupp power limber. I am sorry for the oversight; I will post the Krupp photo tomorrow.
I've no knowledge of this vehicle's use in the Great War, nor can I find it in the zugmaschine enventory records I have for October 1918. Please further enlighten me gentlemen!!
Here is a list of German Artillery Tractors: {Zugs}Magirus,Durrkopp,Bussing,Daimler,Lanz,Benz,Podeus,Krupp,Holt. Some of these companys put out large numbers of Artillery tractors, The rest just a few. Bussing,Daimler and Krupp put out the largest amount. Also in the works were Tracked tractors{Raupenschlepper}, used as artillery prime movers, The companys were Lanz,Benz,Brauer,Krupp, and Bussing.I have little information on any of the tracked vehicles, Like the {Krupp Armoured Limber}It is talked about in The German A7V By Hundleby & Strasheim. I just have pictures and drawings of said vehicles.May be Peter has more Information.
By all means if you have any information on any of these vehicles, please post it.
