Excellent stuff. Of particular interest: on the first page, about 3/4 of the way down, is the photo of what I had always believed to be a German "Infantry Shield." The caption says it was captured from the Russians. There's some lettering on the plates, but I can't make out what language it is.

Found a clearer picture of the Infantry Shield.

Each of the steel plates is labelled as shown below. It does seem to be Russian.

Does that mean anything to anyone?
