Renault FT (FT-17) in British service
Permalink

It looks like there was some interchange of tanks between the French and British in late 1918 ready for 1919. I know that British MkV's and V*'s were transferred to the French tank corp. However, did any Renault Ft's get transferred into the Tank corps?

If any did get transferred which type of machine gun was used to arm the tank - the standard heavy Hotchkiss used by the French Afvs or the light Hotchkiss used on British tanks?

According to this conversation and as I remember to read somewhere else too, British army had some (this says 10) Renault Ft's for liaison duties.

Photos I have seen show only unarmed FT.

Thanks for the information. Like you I have only seen one picture of FT with Canadian troops. This was unarmed.
