The track is Peco NG ,or 009 track.It is a bit course and you can get finer rail,but then you have to solder it onto sleepers. This take ages,been there done that and have got the teeshirt !!!!!
The wagon was basically 3 tanks,the idea was for carrying cylinder oil,lubricating oil and paraffin oil. Knowing what the LR troops could get up to then I would have thought they would have carried other liquids in time.Water I doubt as the LR had the H Class wagon which was specifically for carrying a lot of water.
I have enclosed a pic of one that has been preserved and yes W^D are getting it done in resin.
just wondering if someone knows where I can get plans for this version of the 4 wheel WDLR wagon. I have been told there was one on Ashover railway, but can't find anything online.

If you mean the G Class then as far as I am aware there aren't any. We made the plans from the drawing in Bishop& Davies book Railways and War before 1918.
If you mean the H Class then I have some scale drawings.
I was recently at a local model railway exhibition with my 1/35 scale 1940s layout. But by chance Nigel Tansley was also there with his 1/35 scale WW1 Q Dump layout. It was Nigel who mentioned the Ashover connection to the G class wagon. He said he had built his model from drawings in a book about the Ashover railway.
