Bethlehem Steel Co.37x135mm Gun
Permalink Closed

This cannon was purchased during WW1 by France and likely Russia. The French bought them because they were more powerful than the 1916 Trench Gun for possible anti tank needs etc., during 1917 and perhaps 1918. Can any one supply an image of this gun in French service ? I can supply an image of this gun on request, as it appears that I cannot attach an image here.

Hey there,
I was just googling around a little about this Bethlehem gun - because I love odd and rare artillery - and I came across this really neat reproduction/restoration page:

http://www.historicreproductions.com/restore.htm

If you scroll down a bit there are pages on all sorts of nifty WW1 stuff that they've restored, including a Schwarzlose MG and a US M1902 3" gun! And of course, they've restored both a French Mle. 1916 37mm gun and a Bethlehem Steel Co. M1918 TR 37mm:

NEAT!
Matt
