Landships Article on German Dot Camoflage
Permalink

Hello,

I was getting ready to paint my 1/35 Commanders 21cm Morser.  However, I cannot get to the old Landships article on German Dot Camoflage since the site recently was removed from the web.  Does anyone have access to this article?  I can't move forward without it.

Attached are several photos of the kit (it has since been primed).  I had to scratchbuild a lot of detail to make this kit accurate.  Anything not tan or light green resin is scratch.  Yet to be made is the extended sight to go over the shield.

Thanks for any help,

Rob

Done - many of the large versions of the images were missing from the original article - I substituted other images.

About the only ones I couldn't find reasonable substitutes for were a pair of images of a 15cm sFH 13 with dapple

camouflage (attached) - anyone help?

Charlie

If you mean the article on German Dapple camouflage - I've got the article in an image of the old Landships.

I can convert the article and put it on Landships II - give me a day or so to get it done.

Regards,

Charlie

Hello Charlie,

Yes, Dapple Camouflage is the correct article.  I can't thank you enough if you could repost this sometime in the future.

Thank you,

Rob

Not so far (heck they even block images on the Google cached copy of the page) - and as you've found out the Wayback machine never did archive that image 2004 - 2012.  This is the best I can make of the thumbnail:dapplecammo11.JPG

(everything looks dappled!)

Thank you so much for adding the Dapple Camouflage article. I can now start the process of choosing colors and moving forward on completing the 21cm Morser.

I should convert Peter Kempf's article on German artillery colours as well. You can access Landships I via the Wayback machine at archive.org -

it's a fairly simply structured website so the site has archived ok.

Regards,

Charlie

Hello,

Here is the Morser with the Dapple Camo being applied.  I still need to go over the trail colors to fill them in completely.  I also think I want to rough up the edges of the dapple on the barrel - some are too uniform.

Let me know what you think.

Rob

Nice result. I cannot judge about the colour you used but they look pretty good.

I have to find out the same gun in 1/72 and I will copy what you did b

All the very best,
