It could be that the book in question is only accessible in the USA because of copyright reasons, or perhaps not even scanned yet but merely catalogued by Google Books. If the former, a US member may be able to download it and email it to you, so fingers crossed! I checked Archive.org as many Google Books inaccessible via Google are available there and can be downloaded, but to no avail.

However, this may have odd useful snippets of information - US Army Field Artillery Journal Sep-Oct 1920 (it's a complete pdf link):

Incidentally, not relevant to this but you can download the operating manuals for Holt 45 and 75 tractors from 1917:

Has anyone found the scan of - "Handbook of the Tractor Caisson, Mark VII, Model 1918"

It seems that Google has scanned it but there's no indication how to get access to the scan.

The background is that the US imported a French Schneider CD artillery tractor in 1918. Some of the features of the

Schneider were of interest and Holt modified a 5-ton artillery tractor  to make a vehicle (Mark VII) similar in configuration to the Schneider.

There was also a heavier vehicle based on the 10-ton tractor - the Mark VIII.

I'm trying to assemble info on these vehicles for a Landships article.

Regards,

Charlie
