K-Wagen tracks

Hello Tony

I found a drawing of the "Ketten-Rollenwagen" the Waffen Revue No. 52 with all the mesurements. Of course that are not the tracks in particular, but I am sure, it will help a lot. I will send you a scan by e-mail as I can't post it here.

Cheers, Peter

IPMS South Africa is holding its biennial competition in Aug 2014.

Naturally, the main theme will be WWI.

I would like to scratch build a K-Wagen, but need details of the tracks - has anybody got?

Tony

I think there's an illustration somewhere on the forum - I remember seeing one a few months or so back, showing how the track plates had rollers on the back instead of the rollers being mounted to the hull. Will have a look.

Around 20-odd years ago David Fletcher at Bovington Tank Museum kindly sent me photocopies of some K-Wagen drawings he had unearthed in their archives. Attached is the drawing of a track link, very indistinct but it's all I have.

Hello,

Can you post or email me the drawings you received from Mr. Fletcher, or maybe direct me to the archive that he found the K-Wagen drawings?

Thanks,

Tony

Here is a better drg of the bogey, as well as a side elevation of the tracks; you will notice that there are two different track links.

I did a drg of the track pieces to attempt casting them, but it proved too difficult for my limited talents.
