Hello all

Excuse please my strange question. Today I saw a box of 1/35 scale Dragon French Soldiers from 1940 in green uniforms. Unfortunately I hadn't much time to have a closer look at the figures. The box art showed soldiers

in green coats similar to the horizon blue ones, green Adrian (?) helmets and green putties.

Now my question: is this set - with some modifications - usable for WW I?

Regards

Thomas

Conveniently for our purposes, PSR compares the Pegasus WWI & WWII French infantry:

and the masters can be seen here for comparison: http://www.panzer46.com/

I see no reason why you couldnt use them as the basis for late war french infantry(1918 double breasted Capote) , certain things would need to be altered though...

Helmets are the M1923 in the kit( I think) distinguished by the lack of ridge running round the helmet just above the visor.

The weapons look like later types so would need replacing.

A rear central ammo pouch would need to be added on the belt.

WW1 Gas mask case would need to be added. there are several types...

hope this helps....

I have been looking at converting these and for a start there is a nice set of WW1 Heads available from Hornet http://www.historexagents.com/shop/hxproductdetail.php?ProductCode=HFH/1 and weapons from Masterclub http://www.masterclubuk.com/

Thank you very much for your interesting inputs!

of these sets.

Love the posing of the soldier with the pipe on his hand, carrying the tobacco pouch in the other, walking by leisurely, just strolling to have a better view of the Blitz passing by his trench "Oh la la, ces Boches sont fous!"
