RR A/C in Irish service - transfers
Permalink

I don't remember anyone on this forum noticing that http://maxdecals.com/max7220.htmlincludes 1/35 transfers for some Irish Army vehicles, including RR A/Cs - especially, and very usefully, the elaborate FF (Fianna Fail?) markings as well as the numbers and vehicle names.

The cars covered areThe Big Fella, Custom House and Sliabh na mBan. In this last case, the name is in the later and more correct Gaelic orthography. Originallyit was the more anglicised spelling of Slievenamon. I am not sure if the Gaelicspelling was everused in active service, and certainly some of the markings schemes offered seem to be for the car as preserved - but, given its importance to the Irish Army, it is a valid modelling subject in its own right, like the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Lancaster and HMS Victory asshe is today ...
