Not to my knowledge. When can we start?

Someone did send an interesting link on mine warfare during WW 1 about a year ago, I think it was a French or German site, very interesting subject. As with what looks like a Whippet in the background, not much to go on, maybe there are more pictures of it in the link.

Look at the background of the image - it's the front of a Whippet. The mine isn't interesting compared to the image of a rare

tank.

Rainer Strasheim says in "Beutepanzers" that although a number of Whippets were captured in March 1918 most of these had been

stripped for spares to keep other British Whippets running. Only two were returned to running condition A249 and (perhaps) A220.

A249 went to Berlin and was disassembled and studied by German engineers. A220 had a fairly chequered history but survived the

war to be used by the Freicorps.

Regards,

Charlie

The picture shows (probably) A 220 - and (certainly) Rep.Nr. 111 - during an 17th German Army tank familiarisation training and anti-tank demonstration at the Lieu-St-Amand training ground in September 1918. (Bavarian Abt. 13 was there too.)
