Mk I female without steering wheels and fonts used.

It my be strange but I want to build a Masterbox Mk I  without its steering wheels and netting. Can anyone out there suggest the name and number of any female Mk I that saw action without the steering wheels or sources of information.

This leads to the second question - was there any official font used on British tanks? Having never tried it before I would like to have a go at making some different decals - I like to make things difficult!

Thanks

Don't think there was a standard font for the names because they were unofficial. There probably was a font for the numbers.

It is just a thought, but as the grenade canopy proved ineffective ( and fairly quickly perhaps) then any Mk 1 that survived beyond the first few engagements would have lost the canopy. In addition I don't think the canopy was in widespread use, a search of this forum will provide details.
For 'OH, I SAY !!!' I found a font with rounded style exclamation marks as used by the crew. I can only suggest you try and find a photo of the tank name and match it as best you can. Remember, the letters are only going to be 1mm high (my tank's name was scaled from original photos), from that I would suggest that in 1:72 don't loose to much sleep over font selection. For photos see Building the MB Mk1 thread look at page 5 for the latest photos.

Ok: Modelling, page 2, 'Building the MB Mk1 tank', page 5, photos on posts dated 7th & 10th March. The name decals are quite clear, the number (A17) is probably Arial. I figure the number was applied by workshops and the name by the crew.
