I've got some of W^D's figures which are lovely - but I find it very difficult to attach the heads. I can get the superglue on the body fine...but trying to hold the head in place while it sets (or even to line it up before the adhesive goes off is something I'm finding really difficult). Any helpful (or at least amusing) suggestions?
Well, like you I also have thumbs only and look forward to seeing the possible options. Something that occurs to me: use a small length of, say, copper wire/brass rod etc inserted in a hole drilled either in head or torso. Drill a larger hole in opposite part to allow for refining the positioning and use a quick setting (5min) epoxy - this should harden to a point where you can 'let go' fairly quickly. PS I shall be home next Thurs evening so we can sort out the decals you want for your MkII and you can view my Mk1 tanks during the following week.

Growing old is compulsory, growing up is optional.
Use a drill that fits in the space for the collar and drill out to a few mm depth. Take the head off the sprue but leave the plug on, then using an emery board, thin down the sides of the plug until it will fit into the hole. You can trim the end of the plug to the size you wish. A bit of superglue will keep it in place

Once you have the neck cut to the length and angle you want, put a blob of Blu-tack on the end of a toothpick and stick the head to the blob; basically stick the head on the end of a toothpick using blu-tack. Put glue down the neck hole and press the head into place. Next, you need to watch a few minutes a few minutes of Keeping Up With The Kardashians. After that the head will be stuck on.
Thanks for all your ideas - next time I'll remember to cut them off the block with more 'neck' and drill out the hole in the top of the body..but this time I'd already not left myself enough.
Phil.. I opted for most of your suggestion - worked well
