Doohickeys and the Mk1 tank

There have been some posts in various topics questioning the fitting od track extensions to rhomboid tanks.  Now, we all know that the extensions (doohickeys) could be fitted to Mk 2 tanks onwards but there has been a general acceptance that it was not possible to fit grousers/spuds/track extensions/doohickeys to the Mk1 (the various descriptions listed apply to the steel component that could be bolted directly to the track - or every 6th - not wooden contrivances - torpedoes etc).  Well, how wrong we are!  Here is the evidence:

Depends on what you call "general". I recall back in Peter's time we noted the grousers on Lt. Tarbet's Mk1 (752).

PDA, it is something that is 'coming around' once again. I have added this as various comments have been made about track extensions in the last few days, not least that they "can't be fitted to Mk1's". Rather than hijack the original threads I have started this one - very, very happy for it to point to a previous thread or be amalgamated into that thread and thus re-invigorate it.
