Decided to stop work on my Mark V* and work on this 1/72nd kit from GB Modelli. This is the first WWI Italian model I have ever made. I have also assembled and based painted two of their Pavesi & Tolotti tractor kits. I want to weather and detail paint each one separately - so they will all have different color variations.
This kit is wonderful - the detail is amazing. The only problem is that this kit (as well as the tractors) are beset with air holes - some causing important detail to be marred or parts to be broken. However, I really enjoyed this unique subject. Love the carriage design.
The howitzer is almost finished. More details to be painted and some highlights to be added. Lastly, I am holding off adding the tow arm until the two tractors are ready.
Photos taken with my iPhone so sorry for the poor quality.
Nice progress! It's a cracking looking kit, I keep meaning to buy one and keep forgetting... BTW the photos are much better than I was expecting after reading your apology!
The howitzer is a great kit. A bunch of air holes in the barrel - but mostly confined to the bottom. However, filling in and sanding revealed more holes. Eventually got them filled. The wheel pads also had airholes but nothing too serious. The Pavesi Tractor on the other hand had air holes that resulted in broken parts and lost detail.
