Those are awesome, I have been thinking about scratchbuilding one. Since you shared these great drawings, You have peaked my interest in the 9.2 again.
Thanks

... this system was briefly marketed in 1/32 scale some 15 years ago. I can't recall the British company at the moment, but the kit included a four or five member crew. Any UK members recall this piece... ?
Do you have any drawings or pictures of the accompanying equipment used with the 9.2ich howitzer??
By the way guys I hope you remember who put out that kit, I would love to see one. I have thought about scratch building one. Maybe with these drawings I may start.

Sorry Tim but I don't have any drawings or pictures of the accompanying equipment used with the 9.2inch howitzer, but I do have these last drawings that I have of the 9.2. It's abit large so had to scan it three time to get the lot.
I have a photo of my Dad in ww2, I am trying to do a painting, Can you confirm for me is this the 9.2 howitzer, and if not do you knwo what it is, You comments would be appreicated.
looking at Micky's status shows he has not been on this forum for about a year now, so it may take a while for him to see your message.
There are plenty of other experts here though (Jack being but one of them). I'm certainly not one! But I can normally spot a 9.2. However the photo of your Dad is a bit unclear (over-exposed?), do you have one with a larger field of view, or a wee bit clearer?
Thanks for responding....No I don't have a better picture, It was a photo copy of a newspaper article during the war, all I have is this photo copy and the family has yet been unable to trace it orgin....
I thought it was the 25 pounder, but after looking at photo's of the 25 pounder , I am now not so sure, so a second opinion would be appreciated.. Anyone who knows about it would be great!
I can't really resolve the whole of the photo, but I can see the breech opening and your dad's head. The breech opening looks smaller than 9 inches to me, if we assume your dad has a regular sized head of, say 10 to 12 inches. And the breech mechanism looks more complex than the one on this 9.2 in Australia:
So, I'm inclined to think it's not a 9.2. But I am afraid I don't have a clue what it is. And I hasten to add, I did say I'm no expert, so there's a pretty good chance I'm wrong.
Only a guessimate, but judging from the location of the sight( early war Brit heavy ordnance usually carried this devise to the left of the breach ) the system is likely a BL 6inch howitzer. It is not any of the more modern Brit ordnance of WW2 service.
28juni14, from Kathy's comment about it not being the same angle, I am wondering if the photo shows the left side of the barrel, and what I took to be the breech is really some sort of sighting dial or instrument - a circular, shiny, sighting device? Then the sighting apparatus would be on the correct (left) side, and we can't see the breech from this angle.
