Hi all The French manufacturer Blitz Models has released info on their new line of French narrow gauge in 1:35. A Campagne locotracteur is already available. Coming up will be Pechot wagons in several versions, a Decauville wagon, a mine skip and a steel sleepered track system. All made in resin. See the Campagne locotracteur on
It also seems Blitz will provide at least one load for the wagons as they will release 280 mm. mortar shells.
I have attached a scan from Voie Libre (scan supplied by Hans Hammarsten, Sweden) mentioning the new Blitz kits
It is not surprising to see a 1:35 model of the Campagne loco from the French Army. It is a charming and very different prototype. Back in 2008/2009 I scratchbuilt a Campagne loco to fit my collection of Pechot wagons. You are free to check the images on https://www.flickr.com/photos/nystrup_grus/sets/72157600638413896/
I find the provision of French steel sleepers for 16,5 mm gauge very promising. I hope to incorporate some of them on my Danish gravel railway in 1:35. See http://nystrupgravel.blogspot.dk/
price quoted for the Campagne loco is not too bad either, compared to price of road vehicles. I personally prefer plastic for kits, but can't have everything especially as cost of setting up production is an issue for relatively less interesting models. There is also a Baldwin loco planned, but suspect price will be a lot higher.
The track looks interesting and it does suggest metal rail can be used to replace resin, in which case I would like to see sleepers being produced on their own.
